For the 4th time on 30 May 2012 in the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava could the public get to know the winners of the public inquiry Slovak Woman of the Year 2012. The patronage over the event took also this year the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová.
The public could vote in eight categories. In the category Arts and Culture won the actress and university teacher Božidara Turzonovová, to who was awarded also the prestigious prize of the Slovenka magazine. In the category Sports won Hana Kolníková – the disabled sports representative of Slovakia in athletics, in the category Media and Communication was awarded Oľga Dúbravská. In the category Science and Research received the most votes Daniela Ostatníková, the Vice Dean of the Medical Faculty of Comenius University, in the category Health became the winner Magdaléna Fulmeková. In the category Charity won the Bank Ombudsman Eva Černá, the price for Education and Promotion of Young Talents got Ľubica Jägrová, who is the director of the Elementary School with Kindergarten for Children and Pupils with Hearing Impairments in Bratislava.
The category Business and Management won the entrepreneur in the field of printing Natália Bugyi Vicsápiová, who became also the absolute winner of the public inquiry. The prize was personally handed over by the First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová.
Source: Tibor Géci The public inquiry Slovak Woman of the Year is a follow-up of the public inquiries organized between 1990 and 2004 by the magazine Slovenka under the name Woman of the Year, Man of the Year. The magazine Slovenka restored the inquiry in 2009, which aim is to build on the tradition of discovering, visibility and rewarding of talented and successful Slovak women who have achieved outstanding results in various areas of life and with their example to motivate others.
