This is the name of a project under the auspices of Silvia Gašparovičová whose 6th series of events started in her presence on Friday, March 3, 2006, in the ELÁN Sports Hall in Bajkalská Street, Bratislava. Minister of Education of the Slovak Republic László Szigeti also took part in the ceremony.
The purpose of the project is to encourage sporting activities among the pupils of elementary schools, high schools, higher vocational schools and specialized training institutions by opening the only sports hall of national importance, and thus promote sporting activities among youth even at those schools which lack year-round facilities for athletics.
Since the beginning of the project in 2003, more than 50 schools from the Bratislava Region and several hundred pupils and students who may become successful athletes later on have joined the project. Some of them may perhaps grow up to become the likes of Jozef Plachý, Mária Mračnová or Eva Šuranová who came to show their support for the young athletes competing in several disciplines. Silvia Gašparovičová, sincerely delighted by the great interest of the youth in this kind of sport, also greeted more than six hundred participating athletes.
„When the organizers approached me in 2005 and invited me patronize the project, I had no hesitation in accepting the invitation since I firmly believe that involving as many students as possible will help promote a healthy life style, and the physical condition and the locomotive faculties of the youth will improve,“ says the First Lady.
