Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová participated on 28th June 2007 at the 13th Construction Businesses Day. Accompanied by the Minister of Construction and Regional Development Marián Janušek, president of the Association of Construction Entrepreneurs of Slovakia Ján Majerský and president of the Association for the Development of Slovak Architecture and Construction Mária Brychtová she inspected first the exhibition Building of the Year 2007 and expressed appreciation for the original approach of architects and builders at buildings creating.
In her speech, she greeted all present on behalf of the Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič, who took over the patronage of the event and said: "Since I’m a building engineer and have intimate knowledge of civil engineering and its problems but also with successive successes, I especially appreciate the fact that in the early nineties builders were among the first who understood the new situation, its possibilities and needs. It is pleasing that this process continues, making civil engineering become one of the most prosperous sectors of our national economy." Mrs. Gašparovičová also congratulated the buildings creators and said that with great interest she is following the modern, purposeful and interesting building-up in Slovakia. "At the official trips abroad I´m visiting many places and I´m always happy to say that we can be proud of what we have," said First Lady Silvia Gašparovičová at the 13th Construction Businesses Day.
