Generous sponsor from Eastern Slovakia decided to donor the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody an unusual gift – 18 tons of beautiful apples for the foundation´s project „Healthy Lifestyle – Fruit and Vegetables into Schools“. Through this project foundation tryies to promote healthy eating based on eating more fruit and vegetables. Mrs. Gašparovičová really had pleasure of this original gift. This huge amount of aplles will be donored to students of primary schools all around Slovakia.
First package of apples – 1,5 tons – from the slovak producer Mikuláš Vareha from Malá Tŕňa came to Bratislava in the evening before St. Nicholas Day on 5th December 2008. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová drawed with lots 6 primary schools in Bratislava, who got the 1,5 tons of nourishing fruit:
- Primary School Vazovova, Vazovova 4, Bratislava – 300 kg
- Primary School Hlboká cesta, Hlboká cesta 4, Bratislava – 240 kg
- Private Primary School for Mentally Talented Students, M. C. Sklodowskej 1, Bratislava – 150 kg
- Clerical Primary School of the St. Family, Gercenova 10, Bratislava – 390 kg
- Primary School for Hearing Impaired of Gejza Slaninka, Hrdličkova 17, Bratislava – 255 kg
- Primary School for Tender-eyed and Blind Children, Svrčia 6, Bratislava – 255 kg
On 5th December 2008 Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová together with Mr. Mikuláš Vareha personally donored apples to 1 school – to the Private Primary School for Mentally Talented Students in Bratislava – Petržalka.
It´s a well known fact apples are a big source of vitamins, they supply our body with energy and contain many nutrients useful to our skin. One apple per day evidently improves our well-being. It´s a fruit that keeps us young. It´s a symbol of everlasting vividness and longevity.
Today Slovakia and the whole world fights against the increasing amount of diseases caused by bad nutrition. Obesity affects more and more children and young people. Due to this fact the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody pays attention to a healthy life-style and support of eating tasty fruit instead of sweeties. This year can the children change their sweet chocolate with a tasty apple. Projects of Silvia Gašparovičová aimed at health addressed some sponsors – in the past could the First Lady e.g. donor mineral waters to schools. |
