The Czech President Václav Klaus visited together with his spouse Livia Klausová on 10th March 2008 Slovakia. His first steps after the re-election as the President of the Czech Republic just went to Slovakia.
After common negotiations of the two couples, Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová and Mrs. Livia Klausová had their ladies program. In the Golden Room of the Presidential Palace they discussed also the position of First Ladies in various countries and the activities of the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody.
As both ladies are close to art, they later moved to the Slovak National Gallery, where they viewed the exhibition Czech and Slovak Glass in Exile. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová and Mrs. Livia Klausová could admire the almost one hundred works by Slovak and Czech glass artists who left their country and continue to operate abroad.
Finally, both ladies signed the guests book. Mrs. Livia Klausová also stressed that there are great Slovakia-Czech relations. As she said, they are simply amazing. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová and Mrs. Livia Klausová also appreciated and highlighted the work of artists. |
