On 28 June 2012 President Ivan Gašparovič and his spouse Silvia continued in the official visit to Japan. On this day the presidential couple visited the Research Institute for Physics and Chemistry RIKEN. Its mission is to carry out comprehensive research in science and technology (excluding humanities and social sciences) and publicly disseminate the results of their scientific research and technological development – RIKEN carries out experiments and research from basic research up to practical applications in areas such as physics, chemistry, medicine, biology and engineering.
Today the First Lady of Slovakia attended a lunch given by the Chairman of the Japan-Slovak Society and the Chairman of the Japan-Slovak Society for Cultural Exchanges.
After lunch, the Slovak presidential couple walked through the pedestrian zone of Tokyo – the so called Ginza. On this day the Tokyo International University also awarded an honorary doctorate to the President of the Slovak Republic. |
