On October 25th 2006 Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová participated at the celebration ceremony of the 170th anniversary of organized care for hearing disabled people in Slovakia. At the same time, the honorary title “Primary Residence School for Deaf of Gejza Slaninka“ was provided to the special school for hearing disabled children in Bratislava. Mrs. Gašparovičová also attended the scientific seminar “Present and future comprehensive care for hearing disabled people“.
„With plesure I hold the auspice over this event because this wonderful 170th anniversary shows the long tradition of caring about hearing disabled. This tradition we honour and it motivates us to improve these people´s lifes – to give them better education, more convenient life conditions and successful work life. My experience is that handicapped people have a strong will and they want maximum from life; they appreciate a helping hand,“ said the First lady in her speech.
Mrs. Gašparovičová congratulated the Primary Residence School for Deaf of Gejza Slaninka in Bratislava and wished their students good luck in their studies and working life. |
