On December 14th 2008 the President of the Slovak Republic along with his wife has joined the prestigious charity soiree Beneficium 2008 held in Reduta in Bratislava. Traditionally the Slovak Humanitarian Council (SHC) has organised the soiree on the occasion of the International Volunteer Day and the International Day of Disabled Persons. Here in Slovakia it is an opportunity to highlight and appraise the work of many volunteers devoting their power, time, skills and energy in favor of handicapped people in difficult life situations they couldn’t master by themselves.
Among many artists also some organizations existing thanks to SHC have been presented within the program e.g. Yes For Life. The Slovak Humanitarian Council acts in Slovakia since the year 1990 and currently associates 175 volunteer non-profit organizations around the whole country. It provides direct financial support of activities and humanitarian projects.
