First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová welcomed on 3rd May 2011 in the Golden Room of the Presidential Palace in Bratislava the spouse of Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Slovakia, the wife of Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Slovakia and the South African ambassador’s spouse with seat in Vienna. It happened at the occasion of submission of letters of credence of Ambassador of Albania, Belgium and South Africa to the hands of the Slovak President.
According to the Albanian ambassador’s spouse Mrs. Vera Isaku Slovakia has reached many successes in recent years, such as our entry into the European Union or the adoption of the Euro. She believes that Albania will get inspired by the experience and achievements of Slovakia. In Bratislava she got pleased of the Slovaks. As she said at the meeting, "people in Slovakia are very kind and hospitable." She also praised the Slovak castles. She believes that soon she will visit the eastern metropolis Košice.
Spouse of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Slovakia Mrs. Anne-Marie Leroy was interested in Slovak culture, hospitality and especially the wine production in Slovakia. Despite the small size of slovak vineyards the slovak wines thrive winning many world wine competitions. Also Slovak Tokaj wines are well known.
Together with the spouse of South Africa´s Ambassador to Slovakia Mrs. Bongoza Mabhongo discussed Mrs. Gašparovičová in particular the different lifestyles in New York, Geneva and Vienna, where the embassy of South Africa has its seat. Moreover, they compared charitable activities of women’s clubs in Vienna and Bratislava – e.g. at the Christmas Bazaar 2011 in Vienna in South Africa´s stand the national flower protea will be sold. |
