Spouse of the President Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová attended on 22 November 2011 the charity evening held to mark the 10th anniversary of the Autistic Center Andreas. "I am glad that from this place I can be among the first to congratulate the Autistic Center Andreas to its 10th anniversary. I appreciate the work of all people in the center, because autistic children need a lot of care. Great admiration deserve center founders, as well as volunteers and supporters," said Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová, who annually supports educational activities in Slovakia which are held on the occasion of World Day of Awareness About Autism.
At this occasion the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody rendered to the Autistic Center Andreas a financial donation of EUR 1,000,- to support the center activities. From the hands of the Slovak First Lady took the check the center Director, Mrs. Kateřina Nakládalová. "Thank you very much for your long-term support. We really appreciate it," said Mrs. Kateřina Nakládalová.
During the charity evening a project entitled ´Living on Our Own Planet´ was presented, which is held under the auspice of the First Lady of Slovakia. Its aim is to raise awareness about autism and promoting the development of other activities of the autistic center.
Autistic Center Andreas was established as the first facility of its kind in Slovakia in 2001. It is non-governmental organization with a nationwide scope, established to provide charitable services in social care and humanitarian assistance in population with an autistic syndrome. Establishment of the center prompted an urgent need for an alternative to previously existing forms of care for the autistic population in Slovakia. |
