On 5 December 2011 the National Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises in collaboration with the Top Center of Entrepreneurs for the 12th time awarded the price Businesswoman of Slovakia 2011. The competition is supported by professional organizations – Slovak Trade Association, Entrepreneurs Association of Slovakia and the Slovak Chamber of Commerce. The event was held under the auspice of the Slovak First Lady.
At the event First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová stated that "to notice and highlight woman entrepreneurs is of great importance. Currently, courage and skills to open a business in various areas aren´t lacking at starting entrepreneurs." Own business experience has also Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová: "I know from myself what you had to go through, as well as these women. Bring the family and business together is not easy. Business requires a lot of time, often at the expense of the family. It is very gratifying that despite that the share of women in business is increasing," said the First Lady of Slovakia.
Award for the best Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur for this year took from the hands of the First Lady Mrs. Lenka Kolláriková. The main activity of her company is the creation and implementation of their developed economic information system. Successful Tradewoman became Mrs. Alexandra Šmidáková. Her web-portal is currently offering opportunities for 3600 authors to sell their products from all regions of Slovakia. The prize for the best Starting Woman Entrepreneur took Mrs. Jana Talavašková.
Aim of the project Bususinesswoman of Slovakia is to provide Slovak women entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their business activities, to motivate start-up entrepreneurs and show the way for other women who are considering starting a business. |
