On 9 October 2012 in Bratislava the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová participated in a professional workshop on "Removal of Deficiencies – Benefits of Vocational Training," which was part of the event Switzerland – Slovakia: We Grow through Innovation. Aim of this international symposium was to create a nation-wide debate on the value and importance of innovation for sustainable growth in Slovakia using the experience of Switzerland.
Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová in the workshop dedicated to vocational training in Switzerland and Slovakia pointed out that also enterprises should be actively involved into the education of students in Slovak vocational schools. "There is a need to link education with practice. It’s good to be inspired by what works well abroad and then apply it in Slovakia." Workshop participants also noted the need to increase student interest in technical education and encourage enterprises to enter into partnerships with various vocational schools in their region. |
