Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová took patronage over the international conference "How we educate our children", held on 17 - 20 November 2006 in Bratislava. It was organized by the Union of Parent Centers together with an international network of parent centers Mine. It met here women from 21 countries worldwide – from Argentina, Bosnia, Burundi, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Ghana, Guatemala, Holland, Jamaica, Cameroon, Canada, Kenya, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Italy, Trinidad, Turkey, Uganda and USA.

How do we educate our children

The theme of the conference were international experience and knowledge of the natural parent centers " family universities" in the prevention and parental self-help, the visibility of practical experience and enhance of parental skills, reconciling of traditional values with the current requirements of modern life, creation of advocacy tools for the formation of a society friendly to families and children, and the formulation of benchmarks for reconciling work and family life.

As a result of the conference ladies-mothers also formulated a message of women to the leaders of the state that after the conference a delegation of participants sent to the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
