Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič, together with his wife Silvia Gašparovičová attended the Summit of presidents of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Serbia. The meeting took place at the chateau in Lány in the Czech Republic and its aim was an informal exchange of views on development in Europe.
At the meeting all First Ladies got acquainted themselves with the history of the castle in Lány, who served since 1921 as the summer residence of presidents of Czechoslovakia and was used mainly by the first Czechoslovak president Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. In addition to a tour of historical photographs and publications, ladies heard musical performance of the violin virtuoso Václav Hudeček, who (accompanined by a piano) played music parts of the Czech composers Antonín Dvořák and František Benda. First Ladies of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Serbia discussed also their activities in the field of charity and education.
Heads of states from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Serbia, along with their wives, completed their working program in Lány by a dinner and a concert at the castle.
