For the third time on 23 May 2011 the public got to know the winner of the national poll Slovak Woman of the Year 2011. Awards were traditionally awarded in the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava. The event took place over the patronage of the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová.
The public could vote in seven categories. In the Sport category Veronika Zuzulová was awarded, in the category Art and Culture won actress Eva Krížiková, in the category Media and Communication was awarded the CEO of TV Markíza and TV Doma Mrs. Zuzana Ťapáková. In the category Science and Research got the most sms-votes Head of the National Reference Centre for the Prevention of HIV / AIDS of the Slovak Medical University Danica Staneková. In the category Health became the winner Ružena Tkáčová, in the category Business and Management won the J&T Bank Director Monika Céreová, in the category Charity and Promotion of Young Talents won child cancer doctor Mária Jasenková.
For the first time the prestigious prize of the Slovenka magazine has been awarded. It won the children’s cancer doctor Mária Jasenková, who founded a decade ago and still leads the children´s hospice Plamienok (Flame). The absolute winner of the evening became Mrs. Monika Céreová who got the award from the hands of the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová.
The poll Slovak Woman of the Year is a follower of the prestigious poll organized by the magazine Slovenka in the years 1990 to 2004 named Woman of the Year, Man of the Year. Magazine Slovenka restored the poll in 2009, which wants to build on the tradition of discovering, highlighting and rewarding of talented and successful Slovak women who have achieved exceptional results in various areas of life and with their example to motivate others.
First Lady Silvia Gašparovičová has also becomed the first member of the VIP section of the Slovenka Club. Membership card with the number 001 personally handed over the CEO of STAR production and club member Mária Reháková. |
