Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič and his spouse Silvia Gašparovičová welcomed on 29 October 2012 at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava a group of honorary consuls who are in 86 countries active in the interests of the Slovak Republic. This is already the 6th meeting of consuls, who accepted the invitation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic.
President Ivan Gašparovič warmly welcomed the guests and thanked them for having accepted the invitation of the head of state. He stressed that he likes to meet people, "who Slovaks understand and who help Slovakia." President of Slovakia appreciated that honorary consuls at the expense of their personal time and family interests devote the time to the representation of an another country. "I want to tell you that we are a successful country, which I am very proud of," he said.
In his speech the Head of State thanked the guests who are active in the interests of the Slovak Republic abroad, not only in the economic, cultural, scientific field, but also help our citizens abroad who find themselves in trouble there.
