On 16 June 2011 the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody officially handed over two pulse oximeters to the Department of Pathological Newborns and JIRS of the 1st Pediatric Clinic at the Children’s Faculty Hospital in Bratislava. Instruments are used to measure vital signs of children patients and are desperately needed to care for these young patients. Foundation´ President – First Lady Silvia Gašparovičová said that she is extremely pleased about she was able to help "at this time the smallest hospital patients. Through these devices their vital signs can be easily checked, just what is in their situation urgent."
In the Department of Pathological Newborns doctors and nurses save lives of hundreds of children who need medical intervention. Director of the Children’s Faculty Hospital in Bratislava Daniel Žitňan welcomed that the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová helps in a long term the children’s hospital and contributed also to this department. "We have kids who´s weight is only half a kilogram and we are able to return them into normal life," said Daniel Žitňan.
Head of the 1st Pediatric Clinic of the Children’s Faculty Hospital in Bratislava Mrs. Oľga Červeňová thanked the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová for the gift for the small patients. "We have been here 20 years. When I looked back I found that 20 years ago such children had only a little chance of survival. Thanks to existing instrumentation, that we breathe with those children and have medicines, we can save many of them," said Mrs. Červeňová.
The Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody launched the long-term project Aid to the Health Care Institutions – providing of life-saving equipment already in 2005. Thanks to the financial support of partners the foundation could provide lifesaving equipment worth 608.649, - EUR to various hospitals in Slovakia. Donation of two pulse oximeters to the Children´s Faculty in Bratislava could be managed thanks to the proceeds of a charity fashion show organized by the MARMARE Agency. |
