Representational duties at home and abroad, charities, or vocational and educational events. These are only brief activities that Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová absolved during one year. On 11 June 2008 she evaluated her fourth year of operation alongside her husband - President of Slovakia Ivan Gašparovič. Mrs. Gašparovičová also mentioned some interesting meetings she had abroad.
One of them was also a meeting in Strasbourg with the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe. "With Mrs. Maud de Boer Buquicchio we discussed especially the problem of domestic violence against women and children. A convention on violence against women should be soon adopted by the Council of Europe."
Also this year held the First Lady the auspice over many professional, social, as well as sporting events. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová in addition to it also helps those who need it most - the disabled, the vulnerable or long-term unemployed people. "The assistance they receive through projects of my Foundation Education and Health for Everybody." Mrs. Gašparovičová also informed about other ongoing projects such as setting up an internet university or helping people in Roma settlements. |
