During his official visit to Slovakia, President of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus met with President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič.
After their talks ended, the Slovak President underlined the usefulness of working meetings where the partners can discuss topics that directly concern both sides. The main subject of their talks was the political situation in both countries. In addition, they talked about the situation in the Balkans, and the challenges of the EU Presidency of Germany as well as the issues related to the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe.
President Václav Klaus pointed out the quality and frequency of meetings with the Slovak head of state on the occasion of both, official and unofficial events at home or abroad. The talks of the partners led, among others, to an agreement on the programme of the next meetings this year that will take place in both states.
