First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová welcomed on 29th October 2009 in the Presidential Palace in Bratislava Mrs. Linda Zecher, who is the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Corporation for Worldwide Public Sector. In the meeting Mrs. Gašparovičová warmly welcomed Mrs. Linda Zecher and thanked her for excellent cooperation that the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody and Microsoft Slovakia has. "I am pleased that Microsoft is also focusing on education and women’s health. It is important to educate women. In Slovakia, there is in particular no training available for vulnerable groups," said Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová.
At the meeting Mrs. Gašparovičová highligted activities of the Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová. "People with various life problems come to us. Thanks to partners and sponsors the Foundation is trying to change their fortunes into better. Through the project First Folk Academy we were able to retrain dozens of people. Here we were also assisted by Microsoft," said Mrs. Gašparovičová.
Mrs. Linda Zecher commended Mrs. Gašparovičová´s activities and expressed her full support. She presented to Mrs. Gašparovičová some global initiatives and projects of Microsoft (e.g. in Colombia, Africa, India), as well as work of Microsoft at the European Union. The global aim of the company in 2009 is to increase the safety of internet use by children. |
