Silvia Gašparovičová Taking Part in a Charity Event in Banská Bystrica

On Thursday, 2 February 2006, Silvia Gašparovičová took part in a charity event organized by Motor-Car Banská Bystrica, s.r.o., in cooperation with the Rotary Club.

The main purpose of the event attended by several distinguished representatives of social and business life of the Banská Bystrica region was an art auction. The organizers of the auction decided to present the proceeds of the auction to the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody. Paintings, sculptures and glass works by Slovak artists were auctioned, and the total proceeds amounted to SKK 190,000.

The Foundation of the First Lady will use a part of the financial gift to support the project of treating severe skin diseases, such as psoriasis, atopic eczema, alopecia and vitilligo, of citizens from socially disadvantaged families in the region of Banská Bystrica. As the treatment of these diseases is financially demanding, and health insurance companies cover only a part of costs, the Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová decided to help in implementing this project. The project is based on a new generation of natural dermatological medicaments, produced from human placenta. The medicaments are highly effective and safe, and in the world have been long applied with excellent treatment results. A part of the proceeds will also be used to support other projects in the field of education and health care to be implemented by the Foundation in the region of Banská Bystrica.
