On 10th September 2010 in the Main hall of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava First Lady ceremonially inaugurated the 15th annual Artistic Salon 2010. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová and Minister of Culture and Tourism of the SR Daniel Krajcer took over the patronage over this event. "I admire the work of the Association for Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities, that also with this form has long been an incentive for facilities where these people are. Today we can see works of art of people who on the one hand nature has taken something, but on the other hand they got ability to see the world with their eyes. Each of us has a dream trip around the world. How it is for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, we can see at this presentation of works of art." Said the First Lady who handed over diplomas to winning authors.

For the jury, however, the choosing of winning ones was not easy. Awards were granted to 28 individuals and two teams in the categories – painting, graphics, ceramics, photography and design of the theme Around the World. As the jurywoman Mrs. Adriena Pekárová said, "valuation of the author is already given with his participation in the competition. The value of the exhibition is that it has various manifestations of authors."

Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová through the Slovak Foundation of Silvia Gašparovičová – Education and Health for Everybody supports in a long-term devices devoted to people with intellectual disabilities. Even on this occasion, the Foundation donored EUR 500,- for the Association for Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities.

Artistic Salon is part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Association for Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities in Slovakia. The association is a member of international organizations Inclusion International and Inclusion Europe, that are seeking to integrate people with intellectual disabilities into social life.
