Social issues, charity work or help people who need it most – not just those topics discussed on 13th September 2008 during the V4 summit in Piešťany the presidents´ wives. Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová, Mrs. Livia Klausová and Mrs. Mária Kaczynská have devoted several years to help other people. Mrs. Gašparovičová informed other spouses of the presidents about her plan to set up in Slovakia a so called internet university and about study opportunities for those who cannot travel to school. Ladies, however, talked also about the functioning of the Red Cross in different countries, whether in Slovakia, Poland or the Czech Republic.

First Ladies also visited the Balneology Museum, located in the City Park and walked through the Kolonáda bridge. The afternoon already belonged to the joint program with their husbands. Summit of the V4 countries will the city Piešťany certainly remember. Hundreds of people didn´t miss the launching of the presidents´ fountain right before the bath Irma. Also the First Ladies had a role to play – they planted a rose bush as a souvenir of this two-day summit. And as Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová said, "I am glad that I could show the First Ladies this city. Piešťany is a city not only rich on history, but also a pleasant place for rest and refueling of new forces, where all visitors are sure to return."
