Lovers of dance art became happy on 26 September 2008. In the new building of the Slovak National Theatre (SND) at a charity event entitled „Ballet Gala 2008“ presented the top performers from many european ballet scenes their mastery. The event was under the auspice of the slovak President Ivan Gašparovič, who visited the presentation along with his wife Silvia Gašparovičová.
Help those who need it most and create an atmosphere of friendship and solidarity against the backdrop of art and aesthetic experience – also this was the aim of the artists. The proceeds from this charity event will go to purchase equipment that will serve patients with liver cancer. As the director of the National Cancer Institute Tomáš Šálek said, "these people deserve attention and often need our help."
An insidious disease such as cancer affected 10 years ago also the head of the SND Ballet Mário Radačovský. This story, as he says, ended with a happy end. "It’s amazing that we meet here. The fact that you are here is unbearable. This evening is especially about aid; aid to help those who need it most." In future the Slovak National Theater wants to continue in the tradition of such ballet evenings. |
