On 27 September 2010 in the premises of the Presidential Palace for the 6th time met the First Lady of Slovakia this year’s participants of the Model European Parliament. "Every year come here young creative students from various parts of Slovakia. I am pleased that you are interested in how the work in European institutions functions. In negotiations and discussions in various committees you try the work of a MEP. You could thus use not only your knowledge of professional or social life, but also your foreign language skills. I’m sure you realized that they are really an essential part of life today," said the First Lady in her speech.
For supporting the project on behalf of the delegates thanked Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová the General President of the MEP Michal Adam. As he said, "we enormously appreciate these moments we may spend with you here at the Presidential Palace. I firmly believe that most of us presidents and delegates will return here again in a year, either as visitors or as appointed to government functions."
During the negotiations in Bratislava students also discussed actual issues in various committees. As the National Project Coordinator Mrs. Mária Rychnavská stated, "students worked all four days very seriously. The result is a resolution of 5 committees. But I think that this particular day in the Presidential Palace, they will remain in memory and they will be dealt with not only as university students but also as employees in various positions."
Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová thanked also teachers who educate students. "The fact that you are here today demonstrates the excellent training you received from your teachers. In today’s education situation it is not easy, they deserve great thanks. Right through their effort and strain you can be successful in your lives," said the First Lady. |
