On 27th February 2008 Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová met the Minister of Education of the Slovak Republic Ján Mikolaj. Among her work with the Office of the President, she often encounters diverse issues regarding the education and youth. With the minister of education she discussed the citizens´ comments on the recently prepared education act.
The spouse of the President of the Slovak Republic Silvia Gašparovičová introduced the idea of founding a virtual internet university to the minister of education. In her opinion would this kind of study enable the possibility of university education also to handicapped and far-distant living citizens. Including this kind of university into the internet network of universities would be suitable as well. There is a virtual internet univesity running in Spain already for several years. The First Lady introduced this idea also to the Principal of the University of Economics Mr. Rudolf Sivák in their meeting on 29th February 2008.
