Spouse of the President Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová welcomed on 13th November 2008 in the Presidential Palace in Bratislava children of Slovak countrymen in Poland. 31 students from gymnasiums in Krempachy, Białka Tatrzanska and Nižné Lapše came to Slovakia within a literature and geography field trip. They didn´t miss the opportunity to meet with the First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová. "It is wonderful to hear that all students who are here can speak and understand well the Slovak. I am glad that you also are not indifferent to the homeland of your ancestors. Even thus you can get to know our culture, traditions or lifestyles."

For these students is Slovakia the second homeland to which they are sentiment. As the teacher of the school in Krempachy Mr. Dominik Surma said, "this visit is proof that Slovakia is interested about us, for what we would like to warmly thank and we are excited to be here with you." Mrs. Gašparovičová was interested in the possibility of learning Slovak language on these grammar schools. Teachers reported that the biggest problem are books from which students learn. Slovak language is taught from books which were issued before 1989. The First Lady Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová hopes that this problem can be solved soon.
