At the Tennis Courts STU in Bratislava-Petržalka was held the 17th annual international wheelchair tennis tournament Slovakia OPEN 2010. On 12th June 2010 President Ivan Gašparovič and his wife Silvia personally handed over the trophies to winners of four men’s categories.

The event is the fifth time under the auspice of the First Lady of Slovakia. "Slovakia traditionally hosts guests – the best wheelchair tennis players from various countries. I am glad that we have successful wheelchair tennis players who´s achievements make us very happy," said Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová after meeting with the athletes. Great admiration of athletes also expressed President Ivan Gašparovič. He also wished them many luck in life and other sporting events.

The main competition Main Draw-Men Doubles won Martin Legner (AUT) and Nicolas Peifer (FRA) over Maikel Scheffers (NED) and David Phillipson (GBR). In the Main Draw-Men Singles reached the semifinal Peter Wikstrom (SWE) and Maikel Scheffers (NED). In the competition Second Draw-Men Singles the presidential couple handed over the trophies to the winner Berry Korst (NED) and in the doubles to the winners Dalibor Potúček (CZE) and Guenter Jandrasits (AUT).
