Spouse of the President Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová participated on 8th June 2010 in the charity opera performance Madame Butterfly in the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava. As the First Lady said this initiative is in itself an act of solidarity. "I think all the collections, whether state or EU’s assistance will help these people in their worst position to renew their homes or build new homes. Every day we see what the high flood left behind. It is difficult to find as many words after seeing the damage, destroyed homes, roads and the entire territory," said Silvia Gašparovičová, who follows the flood situation very carefully.
