Presidential couple praised winners of the Golden Rescue Cross

Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič and his spouse Silvia Gašparovičová welcomed on 30th April 2010 winners of the Golden Rescue Cross 2009. The ceremony also attended president of the slovak Police Force Ján Packa.

President Ivan Gašparovič in his speech highly praised the willingness of paramedics to take risks, and particularly stressed the "human emotion with which you are going at risk, knowing that youself can die or lose health," said the head of state.

The President expressed his pleasure that he can meet those who help others in accidents, in jeopardy of life and health. "On behalf of all citizens of the Slovak Republic I congratulate you. I am proud of you for what you could do for others, " said Ivan Gašparovič. To cordial greetings joined also Mrs. Silvia Gašparovičová.

For the winners of the Golden Rescue Cross 2009 thanked Peter Adamkovič. He expressed sincere thanks for meeting with the presidential couple. "The highest state representative has a wonderful relationship with all those who meet the beautiful mission - to help his neighbour, to help fellow citizens in disasters," he said at the same time as one of the awarded ones.

The Golden Rescue Cross is a project promulgated each year by the editorial office of the magazine Rescue Report in collaboration with experts in rescue professions. Organizers appreciate in this way the exceptional, highly professional interventions of firefighters, emergency medical services, police forces, soldiers, members of rescue brigades, professionals of all components of the IRS, rescue forces from various NGO´s and volunteers working in the rescue field and carry out interventions with high degree of personal commitment and courage in difficult and hazardous conditions.
